Community Policing is a partnership between the RCMP and the community.

The mandate of the Community Policing Offices (CPO) is to promote the "Safe Homes, Safe Communities" concept. The CPO offers a number of programs to the community, and works in cooperation with other volunteer and social service organizations in the District.

The CPO offices are used as command centres in the event of disasters, or when special policing is required e.g. New Year's Eve, Halloween.

The CPO offices are staffed by volunteers and operated under the supervision of the RCMP Community Policing members of Oceanside Detachment.
